Plain English is popular in Iran.
Unfortunately, due to the geopolitical situation, we are unable to serve customers from Iran with any of our premium (paid) memberships.
If you are reading this article, you probably know that the United States has placed economic sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran. As a result, United States-registered businesses, including Plain English, are prohibited from selling goods and services to Iran.
Because we cannot accept credit card payments from Iran, we unfortunately cannot extend the 14-day free trial to listeners from the country.
However, the free membership is available to anyone in the world. While we regret that we can't offer our premium services, we are happy to provide the free membership to our Iranian listeners.
A note to Iranian listeners
In the time that I have worked at Plain English, I have received many kind, supportive, and optimistic messages from listeners in Iran.
The Iranian listeners who have written to me are forward-looking, international in their worldview, optimistic for the future, and hard-working. I have truly been touched by the many kind words Iranian listeners have shared.
Let us hope that the political situation changes in the future so that the full range of Plain English memberships can be available to Iranian listeners. In the meantime, please continue to enjoy the free resources at PlainEnglish.com and continue to share Plain English on social media.
